Presentation

The Bachelor in Directing and Editing at ESART is a qualification registered with the RNCP, Level 6, delivered over three years and designed to train creative and technical professionals capable of mastering the entire process of audiovisual creation, from conception to finalisation.

This programme is perfectly aligned with the needs of managers involved both technically and artistically in the production of audiovisual programmes, who are seeking creative, passionate, curious and motivated collaborators.

The ESART Bachelor enables students to be fully operational from their first professional experience or to pursue further studies at Bac+4/5 level. Courses, conferences, masterclasses and Business Games are delivered by professionals who are experts in their respective fields.

FURTHER STUDIES

This Bachelor’s degree is professionally oriented and therefore leads directly to employment. You also have the opportunity to enrol in the first year of a Master’s degree programme.

Programme Objectives

The Bachelor Directing & Editing at ESART is a State-recognised Level 6 qualification aimed at achieving the following objectives:

  • Translate an idea into a coherent and high-quality audiovisual work

  • Acquire the technical skills required for directing

  • Enable students to manage all technical stages of editing, from rush preparation to final export

  • Implement creative choices to enhance a production, through shot selection, pacing, and colour and sound adjustment

  • Understand the production workflow and master audiovisual equipment and media technologies

  • Acquire foundational knowledge in economics, management, and law to enter the professional audiovisual industry

  • Adapt to different formats by managing diverse projects, including fiction, documentary, music videos, or commercials

  • Mobilise and manage teams effectively

DURATION OF STUDIES:

  • 3 years for students holding a Baccalaureate or an equivalent qualification
  • Work-study programme available from the third year onwards

ENTRY LEVEL(S)

Baccalaureate and Bac+2

Prerequisites: The Bachelor Directing and Editing at ESART is open to holders of a baccalaureate qualification and, for entry into the third year, to holders of a BTS or any other Level 5 qualification.

Admission is based on the review of the application file and may include an interview.

Teaching Methods and Assessment

Assessment Methods: Case studies and/or tests and/or essays and/or text analyses and/or multiple-choice questions (MCQs) and/or oral assessments and/or research projects / Continuous assessment / Work-study and competency evaluation (written + oral) / Thesis defence / Professional evaluation in the company

Admission Procedures and Deadlines

Access deadlines

  • Applications for the September 2025 intake are open from 1 March to 20 September 2025.
  • Applications for the deferred January 2026 intake remain open until 18 December.

Modalities

Access to our programmes may be initiated:

  • By the employer,
  • At the employee’s initiative, with their employer’s agreement,
  • By a student or their legal guardian
  • Work-study is available from the third year onwards

Upon completion of the application form, our institution undertakes to respond within 72 hours.

If the programme requires specific prerequisites, we will propose, regardless of the funding method you are considering, a knowledge assessment and/or a positioning interview (by telephone or videoconference) and/or a review of your application file.

AXIS 2: CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

Validation of competency blocks:
